WEALTH Toolbox
WEALTH results will be disseminated through peer-reviewed scientific publications. The WEALTH toolbox will be housed here on this website. Its purpose is to encourage the maximum use of the new knowledge and the new methods developed in WEALTH by the project stakeholders and by EU citizens. Essentially, a one-stop shop for measurement, the toolbox will use interactive pedagogies to make the learnings from specific project tasks available free of charge. Some examples include:
The WEALTH Consortium collaborated with the AlphaBET project, an international consensus process for the establishment of a Universal Taxonomy of Physical Behaviours to develop a Taxonomy of 24-hour movement behaviour.
Prof Seb Chastin developed the taxonomy in collaboration with the WEALTH Consortium members, with a consensus meeting held in Ghent University in April 2023 to discuss.
June 2023, Dr. Steriani Elavsky, on behalf of the WEALTH consortium, presented a poster on the WEALTH EMA Protocol at the Society of Ambulatory Assessment’s Conference in Amsterdam, June 2023.
Title: WEarable sensor Assessment of physicaL and eaTing beHaviours (WEALTH): The Ecological Momentary Assessment protocol
In June 2024, on behalf of the WEALTH consortium, Prof. Steriani Elavsky from the University of Ostrava and Assoc. Prof. Tomas Vetrovsky from Charles University presented an Introduction to EMA training.
The focus of the training is on physical behaviour research. These methods enable real-time data collection and interventions in natural settings, offering valuable insights and opportunities to influence participants’ behaviours and experiences. It includes discussion of the following topics:
- EMA Theory: An overview of EMA principles and benefits, with a focus on studying physical activity and sedentary behaviour.
- Use Cases: Real-world examples of EMA and EMI applications in physical behaviour research.
- Practical Tips: Guidance on setting up EMA studies, emphasizing event-based EMA methods where surveys are triggered by events detected by various sensors in real time.
2025 WEALTH Publication:
Ecological momentary assessment of physical and eating behaviours: The WEALTH feasibility and optimisation study with recommendations for large-scale data collection
